Loan application process
To apply for a loan, you must first become a member of the LTL
If you live, work or study in Vilnius or Vilnius and Trakai districts, come to the LTL with your ID, fill in the membership application form, purchase a 30 EUR share (pajus) (the share will remain your property and you will be able to withdraw the share when you leave the LTL).
Fill in the loan application form
Tell the member of staff what you need the loan/money for and he/she will provide you with the necessary application form - this can be for a home purchase, home renovation, business financing or consumption. Loans up to 15,000 EUR require a guarantor - a person with sufficient income or real estate. A copy of the guarantor's identity document and a completed surety application form must also be submitted when applying for a loan. Loans above EUR 15,000 or for a period of more than 5 years must be secured by a mortgage.
Please submit the following documents
- A completed loan application form
- A completed surety application
- Consent to the processing of personal data
- Proof of income, if it is not a salary (rental income, farming income, royalty income, etc.)
- Preliminary valuation of the immovable or movable property proposed to be pledged and proof of ownership
You will receive a reply within 1-2 days
You will be contacted by a loan manager and informed of the decision. The LTL may ask for additional collateral to secure the loan after assessing the member's ability to repay the loan. If the answer is positive, you will arrange a convenient time with the manager to come and sign the loan and surety agreements. The loan is disbursed immediately after signing the agreement. If the loan is granted against a pledge of immovable or movable property, the pledge is notarised. Disbursement of the loan shall take place after registration of the mortgage note in the mortgage register.
Typical example
Taking a EUR 100,000 housing loan for a period of 30 years with a variable annual interest rate of 6%, with a contract conclusion fee of 2%, the total annual rate of the credit price would be 6.46%, the total amount paid by the borrower – EUR 220,067.48, and the monthly annuity payment – EUR 604.92, the number of credit payments – 360. The annual rate of the total credit price, the total amount paid by the borrower, the total number of credit payments and the payment amount were calculated under the assumptions that the credit agreement will be valid for a period equal to the duration of the credit agreement, the full credit amount is paid on the date of signing the agreement, the parties will properly fulfill all their obligations, the variable interest rate, the amount of fees and other costs will remain the same as at the time of conclusion of the credit agreement and will continue to apply until the end of the credit agreement.
The pledged property must be insured. Notary fees, property valuation and insurance costs and the prices of your additionally selected products and services, if any, are not known to the Union and are therefore not included in the annual percentage rate of the total loan price. The fulfillment of obligations under the credit agreement will be secured by a mortgage on the real estate. If you pledge property and fail to fulfill the obligations assumed under the credit agreement, you may lose ownership of the real estate.
If a credit agreement is concluded in a foreign currency, i.e. the currency of your income (or the majority of it) and/or the currency of your country of residence, which is an EU member state or a European Economic Area state, differs from the currency of the credit issued in euros, a change in the foreign exchange rate may significantly increase the amount of the credit taken out and the amount of payments made.
